What is the treatment?
Dental care is one of the most important parts of your health care regime but also the most ignored one. The health of your mouth, teeth and gums can affect your overall health. The mouth contains a lot of bacteria that may turn really harmful for the whole body without proper oral care.Tooth decay and gum disease are the most commonly faced problems. Medications like decongestants, antihistamines, painkillers, diuretics and antidepressants may be prescribed to heal these conditions. These medications reduce the saliva flow. You must make regular appointments with your dentist to keep your dental health in check.
How is the treatment done?
Take very good care of your teeth and gums. Brush your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush that fits your mouth perfectly. Do not be in a hurry to brush your teeth. Do it gently by aiming at the area where your teeth meet the gums. Remember to clean the outside and inside of your teeth along with your tongue. Rinse and clean your toothbrush after every use and let it dry well before using it again. Keep it at a distance from other toothbrushes. Do not store it in a closed container to avoid the growth of bacteria, mold and yeast. After every three to four months, buy a new toothbrush or replace the head of your electric toothbrush. Do not forget to floss while brushing your teeth. Break off about 18 inches of dental floss; wind most of it around the middle finger of one hand and the rest around the middle finger of the other hand. Move the floss gently through the middle of your teeth. Rub the side of every tooth one by one in a to and fro motion.
